Where does my dog stay during their Board and Train program?

Your dog will stay with us at our personal home, not a strip mall kennel and be left alone for 12 hrs when the business is closed.

Who actually trains my dog?

Joseph & Rebecca, that's it we are the only staff.  So your dog will be trained by someone with years of experience not passed off to a less skilled trainer in the facility.

What training methods do you use?

We use positive reinforcement , classical conditioning, operant conditioning, conditioned emotional response, pressure, pressure release, model rival, clicker, etc.  The dog and the day determines how we train.  We have done everything in our power to fill our toolbox with as many tools as possible to make sure we have the right tool for the job.

Do you use ecollars?

Yes!!  It's a tool in our tool box and when properly trained it can have an amazing impact on your dog, however if not trained properly it can destroy your dog for life.  Much like a gun can put food on the table and keep people alive in the wrong hands it can destroy lives.

Do you train reactive/ aggressive/ behavioral modification/ bite cases?

We do on a case by case basis.  The key to these cases are sitting down with the owner and developing a strategy to get you and your dog to where you want to be.  It is also important to understand that Board and training is not a magic pill and that's why our programs have long term support built in at no extra cost.

Will my dog interact with other dogs?

That depends on your specific goals and training requirements.  If they do interact it will always be in a controlled environment with supervision.  The safety of your family member is priority #1 here at JRK9.

What if my dog has a special diet?

Send us everything we need and the instructions and we will make it happen whether your dog needs a special topper, medications with food, you're feeding raw, or you cook for them.

How many dogs do you train at once?

We don't exceed 5 training dogs per trainer period.  This means that peak times and holidays fill up fast.

What if I want more advanced obedience skills?

That's awesome!!  We love it!!  We want to help.  Topics covered in our Graduates Group class range from long distance recall to sit in motion and a plethora of other skills.

Can you train my dog to xyz...?

We can train your dog to fetch your slippers in the morning, grab you a cold soda, or check the mail.  A basic foundation of obedience and a relationship with your is where it all starts, the sky is the limit once we have that.

Do you price match?

The Lord has called us to help people and dogs.  We do everything in our power to take care of our customers while keeping food on our table.  We have years of experience gained from countless hours of honest work, thousands spent on seminars to continually advance our knowledge, and add value to our programs every chance we get.  We don't want to offer you the best price in the industry we want to offer you the most value.

Does my dog have to be spayed/ neutered?

No, whether your dog is just too young or you intend to breed later it's not a problem they are still eligible for our programs.  If females go into heat they will be sent home and can resume training after the end of their cycle.

I just got a puppy when should I start training?

This question has so many contributing factors that it's difficult to answer without some details and discussion.  Give us a call and we can discuss the best path forward for you.

My dog is ten years old can they be trained?

Often times older dogs are set in their ways and take a little more time and care to train at their pace to keep stress to a minimum.

Do you train xyz breed?

Yes we train all ages and all breeds (except chihuahuas those are cats) just kidding we train chihuahuas too.

Do you finance?

We do have financing options available and will discuss that with you at your consultation
